The EcoVogue Project, hosted by the Advanced Digital Institute (ADI) based in Bratislava, Slovakia, in partnership with the Viennese organization PRAMMER, organized a series of non-commercial flea market gatherings that celebrated creativity, sustainability, and community among migrant and BIPOC participants in Vienna. These events formed part of EcoVogue’s broader mission to promote sustainable fashion and create inclusive spaces for cultural exchange and empowerment.
Community, Sustainability, and Style
On June 29th, 2025, EcoVogue held its first summer flea market in Vienna, providing a welcoming environment for participants to exchange clothes, share stories, and connect through art and design. Building on the success of this summer edition, a second end-of-summer market took place on September 20th, further nurturing a growing network of BIPOC creatives and sustainability advocates.
\Unlike commercial markets, the EcoVogue flea markets were centered on exchange rather than profit, emphasizing community care and circular fashion. Participants showcased second-hand clothing, artisanal ceramics, and handmade jewelry, celebrating both craftsmanship and environmental mindfulness. The events demonstrated how fashion can serve as a bridge, connecting sustainability, creativity, and identity within Vienna’s diverse migrant communities.

About the EcoVogue Project
The EcoVogue initiative, led by ADI, intertwines fashion, education, and sustainability to tackle the underrepresentation of girls in STEAM fields. Through workshops and creative community events such as the flea markets, EcoVogue encourages reflection on consumption habits while empowering women to view design and digital innovation as tools for environmental and social change.
Each flea market became more than a space to exchange items, it evolved into a platform for collective creativity and ecological awareness, embodying the values of ethical fashion and shared learning. Together, ADI and PRAMMER continue to strengthen cross-border collaboration between Slovakia and Austria, showing how inclusive, sustainable initiatives can thrive through community-driven partnerships.
