ONE YEAR ECOVOGUE

Ecovogue – Fashioning a Sustainable Tomorrow: STE(A)Ming Against Climate Change is a forward-thinking project co-funded by the European Union, aimed at reshaping STEM and fashion education through the lens of sustainability and innovation

How EcoVogue Works

The EcoVogue project is implemented across six European countries through the active collaboration of partner schools and organizations. Each partner contributes by conducting research, engaging in outreach activities, and organizing events that connect young people, educators, and local communities.

In addition, the project develops training materials and organizes learning mobilities for both educators and students, ensuring that knowledge is not only shared but also applied in practical, creative, and collaborative ways.

Together, these efforts form the foundation of EcoVogue—combining knowledge, creativity, and cross-border collaboration to promote sustainability, innovation, awareness of fast fashion, and greater participation of girls in STEAM fields.

Activities

During the first year of the EcoVogue project, partners focused on laying strong foundations through research, content creation, capacity building, and international collaboration. A key priority of this initial phase was to explore the intersections between sustainability, fashion, and STEAM, while amplifying diverse voices and equipping educators and young people with innovative learning tools.

One of the main achievements of the year was the completion of six in-depth interviews with women role models working in the fields of fashion and/or STEAM. These interviews highlighted real-world career pathways, shared personal experiences, and emphasized the importance of creativity, sustainability, and gender inclusion within traditionally male-dominated sectors.

In parallel, the partnership produced a comprehensive long-format video introducing the core concepts of EcoVogue. This video explains fast fashion and STEAM, explores their interconnections, and highlights their social, environmental, and educational relevance. Designed for both young audiences and educators, the video serves as a central awareness-raising and learning resource for the project.

To support practical implementation in educational settings, the consortium also developed an Integrative Pedagogical Strategy for teachers and trainers. This framework provides guidance on how to incorporate sustainability, fashion, and STEAM-related topics into classroom practice through interdisciplinary, learner-centered approaches. Building on this framework, a structured training programme was created to meet diverse educational needs and support effective teaching and learning.

Capacity building and international exchange were further strengthened through a joint staff training event held in Ostrava, Czech Republic. This mobility activity brought together educators and project staff from partner countries to exchange methodologies, pilot learning activities, and collaboratively refine project outputs. The project also promoted the mobility of educators and students through cooperative international exchanges and joint activities.

In addition to educational resources and training, EcoVogue partners initiated the planning and organization of fashion-related events and exhibitions aimed at raising ecological awareness and showcasing student work. These activities helped translate learning into visible, creative outcomes while engaging wider communities in conversations about sustainable fashion.

Overall, the first year of the EcoVogue project successfully delivered its core activities, establishing a solid platform for continued collaboration, innovation, and impact in the years ahead.
