EcoVogue International STEAM and Fashion Festival – Student Mobility

The first EcoVogue International STEAM and Fashion Festival took place in Vienna, Austria, with a one-day educational trip to Bratislava, Slovakia, bringing together students, educators, and project partners for a mobility focused on sustainability, creativity, and innovation. The four day international student mobility took place between May 4th to 7th, 2026.

Organised within the framework of the Erasmus+ EcoVogue project, the mobility aimed to encourage young girls to explore STEAM fields through fashion while also raising awareness about climate change and the environmental impact of the fashion industry. EcoVogue combines science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics with sustainable fashion education, using creative and hands-on learning methods to make these topics more accessible and engaging for young people.

The mobility started in Vienna with a welcome session and introductory activities designed to help participants get to know each other and better understand the objectives of the project. Throughout the programme, students took part in discussions and practical exercises connected to sustainable fashion, environmental responsibility, and STEAM-oriented learning. The activities encouraged creativity, teamwork, and active participation in an international environment.

One of the key moments of the mobility was the visit to the Waste Incineration Plant Pfaffenau in Vienna. During the guided tour, participants learned more about waste treatment, energy recovery, sustainability, and environmental responsibility. The visit helped students better understand the relationship between consumption, waste, and climate-related challenges, while connecting these topics to the broader goals of the EcoVogue project.

The programme also included a one-day field trip to Bratislava, where participants explored the city and visited Aurelium, an interactive science centre focused on STEAM learning and experimentation. The visit gave students the opportunity to experience science and technology through hands-on activities and interactive installations in a more informal learning environment.

Another important highlight of the mobility was the EcoVogue student fashion show held in Vienna. Participants presented their sustainable fashion ideas, recycled-material creations, and other group projects developed during the week. The fashion show reflected the project’s main objective of connecting fashion with sustainability and innovation while encouraging young people to express creativity in an environmentally conscious way.

Beyond the educational activities, the mobility also promoted intercultural exchange and collaboration between participants from different countries. Working together throughout the week allowed students to improve communication skills, exchange perspectives, and build new international connections.
